What’s involved in a discovery/breakthrough call?

You fill out a quick form to state why you are looking to chat. I review the form and I contact you by phone or video; we then we chat for 20 minutes about what’s going on for you with your health and how health coaching takes you from where you are at to where you want to be in your unique wellness journey. It helps you get clear on your intentions and goals to move forward. You get to choose the service/package that resonates best for you.

What does a health coach do?

Holistic health coaching is a means of encouragingly actualizing the client’s true potential. I, your health coach: 1. Support clients in activating internal strengths and external resources to make sustainable and healthy lifestyle behavior changes. 2. Use a client-centered approach wherein clients decide their goals, engage in self-discovery or active learning processes, and self-monitor behaviors to increase accountability. 3. Ensure that clients are supported until the desired outcome is achieved. 4. Display an unconditional positive regard for clients. 5. Provide a partnership between you and I through an introductory meeting where your health history is discussed; during this session, initial concerns are addressed as well as any restrictions, lifestyle considerations, and long-term and short-term goals. This is exactly where a health coach can have a profound impact.

What Is Holistic Health Coaching?

Holistic health coaching is where I use an integrative approach to diet and lifestyle changes to improve the client’s health. The aim is to guide individuals toward an overall healthier life. The practice of health education within a coaching framework and context enhances wellbeing and facilitates the realization of health-related goals.

Holistic coaching is how I examine the larger picture of the client’s life to focus on areas that require self-improvement, and it views the mind, body, and spirit as one. It does not focus on a specific desired outcome. Instead, many interrelated issues are addressed that affect poor health or are connected to health to achieve long-term results. I support decision making, overcome barriers, locate resources, and provide reminders and accountability.

Does holistic health coaching work. Is it worth it?

People are able to DIY more things than ever. So you might be questioning the value a coach can provide. If you can save money and try to figure out how to meet your goals yourself, shouldn't you try that? While you can certainly work toward your goals on your own, there are several reasons why paying for a board-certified holistic health coach is worth the money.

When would holistic health coaching not be the answer?

While hiring a holistic health coach can be a powerful solution to help you solve personal/health or attain goals, it's not a miracle fix. Working with me as your holistic health coach is likely not worth the money when you:

  • Only want someone to listen to your problem and explore your feelings. You may need a therapist instead.
  • Don’t believe you need to change, nor do you want to. For results or change to occur, you need to want it.
  • Lack goals, ideas, interests, or understanding of your strengths or weaknesses. You and your coach need a starting point.
  • Aren’t willing to be vulnerable or take risks. Trusting your coach and a willingness to move out of your comfort zone are absolutely necessary for results.
  • Won’t take the time or make the effort to do the work. Action on your part is essential; without doing the work, you’ll get nowhere fast.
  • Are looking for someone else to tell you what to do, solve your problem, or implement change. Coaches help you discover the answers and determine strategies and action steps, but they don’t do the work for you.
  • Need specific technical training. Coaches aren’t classroom teachers. Find a course or hire a trainer to acquire specialized knowledge or skills.
  • Have unrealistic expectations. The coaching process can be transformative, but there’s rarely an overnight success story. You get there by taking several steps along the way.
  • Are pessimistic the coaching process will work. Don’t believe a coach will be committed to your success? Unwilling to fully trust their process to attain your deeply desired goals? Then coaching is not for you.

Can a health coach offer treatment or diagnosis?

It is not within my scope of practice to treat, diagnose, prevent, or cure. I would instead suggest that you seek counsel with your primary care physician.

What if I find that health coaching does not work for me?

If I find that you are not applying yourself to the session/program, I may opt to discontinue my services. Please note-for any digital product, there is no refund available.

What types of payment are accepted?

I accept Venmo, PayPal, Stripe, via credit/debit card.

What is the usual length of time from first call to getting a session?

Typically, anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks. I make every possible effort to make client sessions convenient by via timely scheduling in Practice Better. For those packages that require shipping, there may be delays. For those filling out required forms, the process may be contingent on your submitting them in a timely manner.

Is holistic health coaching just another passing trend?

Not at all. Health coaching is here to stay, growing exponentially. Unlike health fads that come and go, holistic health coaching has strong evidence behind it backing its effectiveness for improving health and well-being. Becoming a board-certified holistic health coach has been deeply rewarding to me, because it is rare in life that you get to promote happiness, build resiliency, save people valuable resources, and help people live longer and more fulfilling lives at the same time.
